The Doctoral (PhD) studies aim to develop modern high quality scientific research, and to prepare scientists with efficient knowledge to contribute to the development of science and research. Graduates of our PhD studies are high level scientists who can work as adequately competent research, business and academic staff to promote the progress of the country. At the same time, the Doctoral studies add to the prestige and international academic distinction of the Department as well as of the University and contribute to qualitative and quantitative development of research.
Minimum qualifications of doctoral candidates are as follows:
- High education undergraduate degree (University or Τ.Ε.Ι) in Health Sciences either from Greece or high education undergraduate degree in Health Sciences recognized as equal with Greek degrees from an educational institute abroad.
- Post-graduate (Master’s) degree in Health Sciences from Greece or post-graduate (Master’s) degree in Health Sciences recognized as equal with Greek degrees from an educational institute abroad or a unified and unbreakable degree of post-graduate (Master’s) level according to the law article 46 ν. 4485/2017.
- Good command (Β2) of English language.
- At least one (1) publication in a valid foreign language journal, which has abstracting/indexing in an international database, and in a subject relevant to the scientific field of the doctoral programme.
The duration for the acquisition of the doctoral degree cannot be less than three (3) full academic years since the date that the 3-member counseling committee is assigned (par. 1, art. 40, law. 4485/2017).
